Empowering Faith, Transforming Lives: MCA Lagos and the Pontifical Missions Society (PMS)

At ICT AccessPoint, we are honored to share the story of our collaboration with the Missionary Childhood Association, Lagos (MCA Lagos), an integral part of the global Catholic community, Pontifical Missions Society (PMS). PMS is a sacred tapestry woven from the threads of compassion, dedication, and a profound sense of mission. The societies within PMS, each with its unique history and purpose, exemplify the power of faith and unity in action.

About Pontifical Missions Society (PMS):

  1. Propagation of the Faith (POF): Founded by the visionary Pauline Jaricot in 1822, POF arose from a simple yet profound idea: helping those in need. This spirit of compassion continues to guide POF’s mission today.
  2. Saint Peter Apostle (SPA): In 1889, Jeanne Bigard established SPA, an institution devoted to training young men and women to serve their communities as religious sisters, brothers, or priests. It stands as a testament to the enduring power of education and faith.
  3. Missionary Childhood Association (MCA): Initiated in 1843 by Bishop Charles de Forbin-Janson, MCA grew from a conversation about how children could help children. Today, it stands as a beacon of hope and solidarity among the youth, fostering a sense of shared humanity.
  4. Pontifical Missionary Union (PMU): Founded in 1916 by Father Paolo Manna, PMU unites seminarians, religious, and laity worldwide. Its mission transcends borders, nurturing a global community dedicated to the service of others.
